General Info
By using CherAmi, you accept that you and others intend to use this site for anonymous roleplay, and that you are aware that some users will roleplay situations and themes you may not enjoy, agree with, or think are acceptable. You are responsible for curating your own experience of the site, making use of the filtering system where appropriate.
The staff, server hosts, moderation team, and any volunteers or associates of the site accept no responsibility or liability for the actions of the users and hold no legal ties to the chats that are hosted on the website. By starting a chat, you agree that there is an honour system in place, that you are above the age of 18, and that if you are a minor, you will be banned from the site upon discovery.
The community expects certain behaviour, and you are required to adhere to it - politeness, understanding, and being civil are requirements to be on CherAmi. Site staff do not investigate chats unless they are reported, or they have triggered our monitoring systems for investigation. We ask that if someone breaks the rules, you bring it to our attention - cooperation from the userbase is paramount to ensuring the most optimal experience for everyone. More details of the behaviours expected on the site can be found in the Code of Conduct.
Crime and Punishment
CherAmi operates on a tiered punishment system, with more serious offences or repeat violations earning a harsher punishment. The punishment tiers are as follows:
- Tier 1 - Warning
- Tier 2 - Temporary Ban
- Tier 3 - Account Permaban
- Tier 4 - IP Ban
- Tier 5 - IP info turned over to authorities. Reserved for explicit illegal activities OOC.
Prompts breaking the rules will, naturally, be drafted. Please note: These tiers are minimums, as infractions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and the moderation team reserves the right to use harsher punishments if deemed appropriate. Additionally, cases of multiple infractions in parallel or repeated infractions will lead to an escalation of punishment (i.e. increased tier or a longer temporary ban). If there are any questions about any rules, it is advised to ask site staff through the mod chat function and/or the discord. Punishable offences are as follows.
We Are Here To RP, Keep It RP: When posting a roleplaying prompt on CherAmi, it is with the understanding that it is for just that - roleplaying. We are not interested in PSAs, links to discord groups, your personal history, or screeds against people who have wronged you. Please keep your prompts relevant to the matter at hand, which is roleplaying. Tier 1.
Do Not Harass People: When you connect to someone's prompt, it is with the understanding that you are doing so with intent to roleplay. You should not connect to people to correct their tags, inform them of a rule violation, chastise them for their kinks, ask why they disconnected, or anything else besides pitching a roleplay. Harassing people off-site, or using CherAmi as a medium to harass others, will also be treated as a violation of this rule. Tier 2-3 depending on severity.
Things You Can't Roleplay: Our list of 'things you can't RP' is reasonably small. You cannot roleplay: Real people that currently exist (including yourself, this does NOT mean people cannot roleplay media that is live action or non-animated); Historical real people that are immediately recognizable as themselves (though highly fictionalized versions like in Fate/stay night are allowed); Other people's OCs; Children in sexual situations. Tier 1-3.
Things You Can't Put In Your Prompt: You cannot put: 'Faceclaims' of real people; Direct links to NSFW pages, including NSFW text (erotica, f-lists), NSFW images, NSFW videos, and other NSFW media; Slurs. You are allowed to put these within your chats as desired IF agreed upon by both parties in advanced, just not your directory prompts. Tier 1-2.
Tag Warnings Appropriately: When writing a prompt, tag for everything mentioned AND that may be possibly discussed or portrayed so that people who don't wish to see it can avoid it. If characters are drinking alcohol, tag the Alcohol Use light warning, for example, even if it's just a sip of wine. Tier 1.
Don't Plagiarize: Do not plagiarize other people's prompts. You can be inspired by whoever you like, but copying text verbatim is not allowed. Tier 3.
No Ban Evasion/Multiple Accounts/Account Sharing: Ban evasion will get you banned more and harder. Additionally, we do not allow multiple accounts on this site - the pseudonym system, if opted into, provides you with a free fountain of infinite identities to take and there are generally no reasons for multiple accounts besides acquiring more prompt tickets or ban evasion. If multiple accounts are found to belong to the same person, the newest accounts will be banned. Finally, this should go without saying but account sharing is strictly prohibited. It violates the privacy of your partners, and frankly isnÃt something that we find appropriate. Tier 4.
No Illegal Stuff: Do not encourage, take part in, or attempt any sort of illegal behavior outside of the fantasy realm. This includes general malicious behavior such as phishing, hacking, or cyber-stalking, as well as anything involving real-world illegal paraphernalia such as drug exchange, transfers of Child Sexual Exploitation Material (CSEM), bestiality material, and the like. This list is non-exhaustive - just don't use our site for illegal things, thank you! Tier 5.
No Underage: All Characters, Entities, Beings, Creatures, Monsters, Aliens, Furries, Scailies, or any and all other existences not explicitly referred to in the list otherwise being role played by any user on CherAmi in NSFW contexts that are sexual in any nature, reason, or form must be 18 years of age or older. This includes appearance - characters that appear pre-pubescent or otherwise childlike, regardless of actual age (mental, chronological, and such) are not allowed to be roleplayed in sexual contexts. Characters with a canonically childlike appearance, such as vampires that have been turned young, members of species with childlike appearances, etc., must be played with references (character images) that depict them as distinctly post-pubescent. Tier 3.
Nuisance Rule: We reserve the right to enforce administrative action on any user that is not explicitly violating the letter of the preceding 9 rules, but is nonetheless acting in a way that demonstrates bad faith usage of CherAmi. Tier 1-4 depending on severity.
Ensure Correct Tagging: While this is not a rule that will get you a warning or any sort of punishment (for punishable tagging infractions, see 'Tag Warnings Appropriately'), this rule exists for reporting purposes in the event that you see errors in a post's tagging. This includes: tag talk, misspelled tags, use of non-westernized tags, and other tagging errors that do not revolve around the warnings section.
