Hello! We're glad you're curious about CherAmi and its advertisement policies!
Ads:
There are three "kinds" of ad:
A 600 x 100 "footer" ad at the bottom of relevant pages.
Two 300 x 200 "sidebar" ads on the right side of relevant pages.
Two 300 x 100 "sticky" ads on the left side of relevant pages. These ads stick to the side column, as shown on the directory and in chats.
Ads rearrange themselves on mobile as necessary, with the "sidebar" ads shunting to the bottom and the "sticky" ads going to the top of the page and becoming no longer sticky.
You are allowed to advertise for anything so long as it passes the approval process. This includes rickrolls or other such japes. You do not need to advertise for stuff you personally own or run.
Pricing
Buying ad space operates in tiers, with each successive tier giving you more ad space across screens.
Tier 1 just gives you a 600 x 100 footer in the rotation.
$7 for one week, $20 for one month, $40 for three months
Tier 2 gives you the 600 x 100 footer and a 300 x 200 sidebar space.
$10 for one week, $30 for one month, $60 for three months.
Tier 3 gives you the 600 x 100 footer, the 300 x 200 sidebar, and the 300 x 100 sticky ad.
$15 for one week, $45 for one month, $90 for three months.

An important note is that most if not all modern Adblockers work with CherAmi ads. If you find the ads irrevocably detrimental to your experience, we strongly encourage you to download an adblocker (I recommend uBlock Origin since Adblock is owned by ad companies now), although considering that these are from the same demographics using the site and not an anonymous ad algorithm by Google you may want to refrain just to see what's on offer 😉
If you have any business inquiries about the user-serviced ad content you are free to contact cherpadmin@protonmail.com.
FAQ
- You can really buy adspace for a meme/joke/goof/gag/jape?
- Its your money. Live your thrill.
- Can I advertise my art/writing/music/sewing/etc. commissions?
- Sure thing. That's realistically what most of the ads will be, I imagine.
- Can sponsors view the site ad-free?
- Probably, we'll have to figure out how to tie sponsorship to site accounts first, which is not the hardest thing in the world but also not easy. Consider the answer to be "yes but probably not immediately"
