🐦 CherAmi Alpha Test is LIVE! 🐦

cherami.chat is now open for testing!

After a long journey, we're thrilled to announce that the alpha test for CherAmi (formerly known as Cardinal during development) is officially LIVE - earlier than our end-of-March estimate!

⚠️ IMPORTANT ALPHA TEST INFORMATION ⚠️

  • This is an ALPHA TEST that will run for at least two weeks
  • Accounts and chats created during this period WILL NOT be kept
  • Please don't get attached to content created during this phase
  • The alpha test exists to identify bugs and prevent issues during the full launch

What is CherAmi?

CherAmi (pronounced like "chair" but with a soft "sh" sound: "shair-ah-me") means "Dear Friend" in French and is named after a famous messenger pigeon - maintaining our bird theming while introducing "sending messages" themes. The Cardinal name lives on as the name of the underlying open-source codebase.

What's New?

  • Updated Rules & Tagging Guidelines: Please review these carefully! Not everything forbidden on Cherp is forbidden here and vice versa.
  • The Lucky Dip: It's coming back as a launch feature!
  • Open Source Codebase: Cardinal (the underlying codebase) will be open-sourced, allowing you to suggest changes, fix bugs, or even host your own instance with your preferred rules and policies.

What About My Existing Content?

When we move to full launch, we will be porting EVERYTHING over from the previous site:

  • All your chats will be preserved
  • All your prompts will be preserved (though they'll be drafted and will need retagging due to NSFWE changes)
  • All character profiles will be preserved

HOWEVER, THE ALPHA TEST IS CLEAN AND EMPTY - NOTHING HAS BEEN PORTED YET.

How You Can Help

  1. Explore the site and test its features
  2. Report bugs in the #cherami-bug-reports channel on the Discord
  3. Provide feedback on functionality and user experience
  4. If you discover security vulnerabilities, please disclose them privately to the admin team

Current Status

The site is functional but still a work in progress:

  • The color palette is currently using "soothing Rose Lalonde colors" but is not finalized
  • Forms are minimally styled for functionality during testing
  • The site will look much better after alpha testing concludes

Tell your friends about the alpha test! The more testers we have, the more issues we can identify and fix before the full launch.
