Ads are open again. The system is like 90% automated now, so long as the registered email on your account matches the email you enter into the Stripe checkout. This is essential, otherwise it won't know how to connect

1. Purchase the ad subscription, and you will have an ad allowance tied to your account.
2. Then, go to your user page (click on your username), scroll down to ads, click, to open the ad menu.
3. Submit some ads! If your ad allowance has not tied to your account, wait 15 minutes, then refresh the page. If they still do not show up, make a mod chat with us or a open a ticket in the Discord.
4. Wait for me to manually approve them. If they are rejected for any reason, I will bother you with a mod chat about it.

Some tags have tooltips now. They are marked by an (i) symbol and will give you a short description when hovered over.

Some tags also have Definitions now. They are marked by a book symbol and can be clicked on in order to show you a more expansive, clarifying definition of what we consider the tag to mean on Cher Ami.

We have also made a Themelet that will hide the dotted border and the book icon if they are too much visual noise for you for now.

Please clear your browser cache and cookies.

"Something looks weird/broken/not what I expected."

We're aware of some UI/UX issues and are actively addressing them. Our priority was getting the core functionality working first, and we'll be fine-tuning the interface based on your feedback.

"The site feels unintuitive to use."

We're working on improving navigation, renaming buttons, and creating better layouts. Your patience during this transition is appreciated.

"What's the difference between managed and unmanaged chats?"

In managed chats, the prompt owner can moderate participants and modify the chat. This feature is primarily relevant for group conversations.

"Where is <\feature> from Cherp?"

We're working to restore all features. Total feature parity is in line behind "making it work" and then "making it look and feel good".

"Why change the site in the first place?"

The previous version of Cherp was hastily built and structurally flawed, requiring complete site shutdowns for even minor fixes. Our new platform allows for seamless updates and improvements without disrupting service. Additionally, the rebranding helps avoid potential legal complications with prior ownership, who has previously expressed a desire to make our lives as complicated as possible given the ability.

"The blacklisting/whitelisting system is hard to use."
We'll be refining the blacklist UI particularly hard out of all the things that are broken. Please be patient!

"Can I share my Discord/offsite contact info now?"

Yes!

"I was banned for going offsite. Can I be unbanned now?"
Give us like a week and then open a ticket on the Discord or a mod chat on the Here.

"What is this weird "migrated" email in my email slot on my user page?"
That means you are part of the first wave of users who was migrated from Cherp to CherAmi. You should replace it with your actual email ASAP and update it so that your account can be confirmed. The weird automatic looking email is a placeholder.

"Are you going to use my email for anything nefarious?"
Account confirmations and password requests are the only reasons I could possibly imagine we'd need it. So, no. No nefariousness.

"My confirmation email is not showing up!"
First, check your spam folder. Then, if it's still not there, wait an hour or two and try again. If it still isn't showing up after three tries, open a ticket or mod chat.

"Are you planning to abandon this site?"

I am not sure why this one is being frequently asked but no. I probably use this site more than you. I have no intention of letting this site die and the staff are all just as dedicated as I am. Who else would I have to roleplay Rose Lalonde with if not a bunch of random people on the internet?

Hi, everyone! Thanks for bearing with us as we handle the softlaunch.

We will be pulling the site back into maintenance mode at the top of the hour - in 27 minutes from this post - to swap hard drives from a HDD to an SSD, which will produce an extremely substantial speedup for the site.

There will be no data lost during this process and it should be much faster than the migration. I can't promise anything concrete until our host gets back to us but it should (SHOULD, NOT WILL) be done before tomorrow morning at the latest.

CherAmi Beta Launch - Important Announcement

Dear CherAmi/Cherp community,

We're excited to announce that after a successful alpha testing period, CherAmi is moving to beta phase in 48 hours! This is a major milestone in our development journey, and we want to thank everyone who participated in the alpha test and provided valuable feedback.

(When is 48 hours? Friday, March 28th, 2025, at 10:00 PM EST)

What This Means

• Cherp.chat and CherAmi.chat will be taken offline in 48 hours as we migrate all data to CherAmi
• Your existing Cherp content will be transferred to CherAmi during this transition
• There may be a period of downtime up to 48 hours during which you'll see a maintenance page
• After migration, you'll be redirected from cherp.chat to cherami.chat automatically

Beta Phase Focus

During the beta phase, our team will be focused on:

• Squashing bugs and improving overall stability
• Completing feature parity with Cherp (including dice rolling, title bar updates, and chat filtering)
• Enhancing test coverage for better reliability
• Addressing usability issues identified during alpha

What to Expect

Unlike the alpha test, your content created during beta will be preserved for the full launch. However, please be aware that:

• We may need to roll back temporarily if any critical issues occur with the data migration.
• Some features might temporarily be unavailable as we work to improve them.
